Based on players' results after the phase 1 trials (GE Closed Tournament), players are invited to play in the phase 2 trials.
GAUTENG EAST INTERPROVINCIAL PHASE 2 TRIALS FOR THE SA SCHOOLS TEAM 2022
RULES AND FORMAT
SATURDAY, 12 FEBRUARY:
Each age group is divided into 2 sections. 3 round robin matches will be played on Saturday.
ONE SET, WITH Advantage. 7-point tiebreaker at 6 games all. NO let rule.
SUNDAY, 13 FEBRUARY:
2 playoff matches will be played on Sunday. The top 2 finishers in each round robin group will play off for position 1-4.
The bottom 2 finishers in each round robin group will play off for position 5-8.
ONE PRO SET, WITH Advantage. 7-point tiebreaker at 7 games all. NO let rule.
TEAM SELECTION:
The team will consist of 6 players, of which 2 players will be players of colour. The additional
players will be the team reserves. The Tournament Committee will announce the teams
soon after the tournament.
RULES:
1. Players must abide by the Tennis South Africa’s Code of Conduct.
2. A “Plus 2” will be allowed. 2 parents per player.
3. Covid-19 protocols must be strictly followed.
4. Draws and Order of Play will be sent to your WhatsApp number. A link will also be sent
for Sporty hq.
5. Order of play and match times will be strictly adhered to.
6. If a player fails to arrive 15 minutes after their match has been called, the opponent will
receive a walkover.
7. The decision of the Tournament Committee will be final.
